Another six MPs expected to join parliament today
Other MPs are joining the country’s parliament, while forming what it’s considered to be the new opposition. These are candidates who ran for parliament in 2017 and who are now willing to replace those opposition MPs from the Democratic Party and Socialist Movement for Integration who decided to resign. So, today, the Central Election Commission is expected to issue mandates for another six MPs. Three of them belong to the Democratic Party and they come from the constituencies of Berat, Tirana and Korça.

Meanwhile, the other three belong to the Socialist Movement for Integration and they’re from the constituencies of Lezha, Durres and Gjirokastra. So, today, CEC is expected to replace the following MPs who resigned from parliament: Astrit Veliaj, Gent Strazimiri, Klevis Balliu, Viktor Tushaj, Nora Malaj and Vangjel Tavo. A few days ago, a few other MPs decided to join parliament. They were Edmond Rushiti, Ylli Shehu, Enver Roshi and Aurora Maras.  Meanwhile, there are a few other MPs from both Democratic Party and Socialist Movement for Integration Party who did not agree to resign. They’re Myslim Murruizi, the daughter of the late democrat MP, Azem Hajdari, Rudina Hajdari and Lefter Koka of the Socialist Movement for Integration.
