“One of the main causes encountered on a daily basis among all sorts of people, is the little importance that our society gives to psychological health and emotional wellbeing. On the other hand, we could also mention other important factors which have an impact on stress levels and anxiety, which could generate a number of psycho-emotional problems on an individual. Here, I’m referring to healthy individuals who have no history of psycho-emotional problems. -Insecurity is one of the most frequent elements that we encounter.
-Need for attention and love is also a determining factor which leads to suicidal attempts and suicide itself. There are numerous cases where family members do not offer sufficient love and attention. - Collective traumas, for which individuals have not been treated in time and tens of other psychological problems which appear after the traumas. Of course, we are all able to prevent suicides. First, we need to eliminate the stigma that we or our relatives feel if others learn about these problems. We need to learn on how to seek help from specialists. We need to show that we really care about each other. We need to learn on how to spot the first signs that a person displays, without allowing the situation to aggravate any further. The media should be careful and ethical when informing the public. It’s very important to understand that the lack of mental health is not something to be ashamed of!
