Former chief prosecutor’s assets seized on suspicion of originating from proceeds of crime

The assets of the former attorney general, Adriatik Llalla will be seized. This was the decision taken yesterday by a court in Tirana, which approved the prosecution’s motion on suspicion that the assets originated from proceeds of crime. Authorities have also decided to indict the former prosecutor general, Adriatik Llalla. “Following a thorough investigation, there are reasonable doubts that some of the fixed assets that Adriatik Llalla owns originate from the proceeds of crime”, the prosecution declares.

Meanwhile, the assets that the court has decided to seize are: a 67.2 square meter apartment in Durres, a 4.500 square meter land in Tirana, a 12.300 square meter land in Tirana, a 2250 square meter land in Tirana. On 23 July 2018, the authorities have seized the above-mentioned assets. “The market value of the abovementioned assets amounts to 98.772.000 lek. Investigations continue in cooperation with the Police of Tirana”, authorities declare. The former Attorney General, Adriatik Llalla is currently under investigation by the Prosecution of Serious crimes for concealing his assets, after his file was transferred from the District Attorney’s Office in Durres.
