The PM added that the minister of Interior is not obliged to answer, legally or morally. Meanwhile, the minister of Interior has also reacted for the first time against the opposition’s accusations. According to him, the audio recording made public by the opposition is a total lie. Recalling the fact that in 2002, his brother has been sentenced in Italy, the minister said that he has never favored his brother into breaking the law. “My brother was sentenced to prison in 2002. Authorities remanded him in custody for a month and then deported him from Italy. At that time, I offered my resignation to the then Prime Minister, Majko, but he turned it down. None of my actions has provided immunity or favors which would prevent the execution of the sentence that he received. As Interior minister, I have never thought that my brother should not suffer his sentence. Fatmir Xhafaj never favors anyone by breaking the law”, the minister declared. On the other hand, yesterday the opposition has held a protest in front of the Ministry of Interior.
