Yesterday, Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the European Commission hosted a seminar dubbed “On the Impact of accession negotiations on the work of relevant ministries and authorities in a negotiating country – lessons drawn from the Republic of Croatia”, with the participation of Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, and the European Commission Director-General, Christian Danielsson. The objective of the seminar is to draw a set of lessons learned on internal inter-ministerial organisation from Croatia’s experience, as the last country to successfully negotiate accession to the EU.
In his remarks, Minister Bushati stressed that our commitment to deepen reforms and how seriously we take each and every stage of the process will condition the pace of our path towards the European Union. “In this context, added the minister, the strengthening of human capacities of the public administration is a priority. It is an integral and essential part of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs work, to strengthen the professional capacities of the administration for the accession process. The ministers said that “We are working and trying to have a positive national narrative, as it is of paramount importance that the political climate in the country, alongside with the work of public administration, will enable us to achieve the national objective.
